Astrology is the story
of how the stars and planets are supposed to affect people on Earth. An
astrologer divides up an area of the sky, known as the zodiac and is named
after groups of stars within them. They are: Aries (the ram), Taurus (bull),
Gemini (twins), Cancer (crab), Leo (lion), Virgo (virgin), Libra (Sales),
Scorpio (scorpion), Sagittarius (archer), Capricorn (goat), Aquarius
(watercarrier), and Pisces (fish). A chart known as a horoscope is drawn up
which shows the positions of the sun, moon person’s birth. From this, the
astrologer attempts to predict that person’s character and future. Most
scientists consider this to be of little or no value, unlike the true science
of astronomy, in which knowledge is gained through observation, measurement and
so on. He distinction between the two studies is quite a recent one and famous
astronomers, such as Kepler, also worked as court astrologers.
